Japanese electronics components manufacturers continue to benefit from the robust performance of the automotive industry as reflected on the strong sales results in the first half. In the first half of FY2017 (April to Sept.), the reported sales of leading manufacturers of automotive electronics components surpassed those of the same period of last year, with growth registering at least double digits.

For the coming years, manufacturers aim to continue to expand their businesses actively, setting their sights on the increase in demand for automotive electronics components that accompany functional advancement of vehicles, and the popularization of electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid vehicles (HVs), and plug-in hybrid vehicles, collectively called xEVs.
