Manufacture Processes Diversify to Meet Demand Trends

In the fusion welding method, when welding an insulation coating copper wire and a metal terminal, the insulated coating is melted to join the copper wire inside and the terminal. This method is used mainly for the joining (mechanical and electrical joining) of motor's coil and communicator, as well as joining of coil's winding start end and winding finish end, and the terminal in various molded bobbins, such as for relay components.

In the pulse heat joining method, a ceramic heater is instantaneously heated, and the heat is used to melt the material to be welded. Using local heating, this method suppresses the effects of heat to components. As heat is applied from the external part (ceramic heater chip) for joining, this method is mainly used for the soldering of flexible printed circuit (FPC) and printed circuit board (PCB), and thermocompression of anisotropic conductive film (AFC) (glass + FPC).

The laser welding method uses the principle of local heat generation by irradiating a beam and collecting light (beams). Based on the amount of energy absorbed, temperature rises instantaneously. This method is suitable for fine joining, including the sealing of the case of lithium-ion batteries, soldering of chip components, welding of copper terminals for power devices, and welding of resins.

In the ultrasonic joining method, ultrasonic waves are emitted to the object to be joined, while it is heated by a heater. This method supports a wide range of applications from mainly nonmetals, such as glass and ceramic, and metals, such as aluminum and stainless steels, to resins.
