Japanese Parts Makers Ramp up Manufacturing, R&D Capacities
Nidec Central Technical Laboratory
will tackle technical challenges and
construct the foundation for new technologies,
targeting the creation of future
market and future products that will enable
to achieve the group's sales target of
¥2 trillion (US$17.5 billion) in 2020 and
¥10 trillion (US$87.6 billion) in 2030. It
will strive to improve the entire group's
product development and production
technologies as it forms the nucleus of
the Nidec Group's technological expertise.
It will also nurture world-class highlevel
engineers and foster advanced integrated
research on manufacturing from
basic research to applied research.

Hirose Electric Co., Ltd. has established an electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test room at Yokohama Center in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. The company accelerates the development of next-generation automotive connectors by optimizing design through the analysis of electromagnetic fi eld and actual measurement and verifi cation in the EMC test room. In addition, the company is expanding Ichinoseki Testing Center in Ichinoseki, Iwate Prefecture, Japan in order to strengthen test and analysis system and step up efforts in the automotive and industrial equipment markets. Overseas, the company established Connector Center as a new factory building at Hirose Korea Co., Ltd., its Korean subsidiary based in Siheung, Gyeonggi-do Province, and commenced its operation in Jan. 2017. Hirose Electric aims to lead the establishment of the center to the improvement of center engineering function and the strengthening of manufacturing capabilities.
