CHINA and JAPAN – Showa Denko K.K. is increasing production capacity in its Nantong plant, Showa Denko Aluminum (Nantong) Co., Ltd., which is located in China's Nantong City in Jiangsu. In beefing up capacity, the company aims to respond to the increasing demand for high-purity aluminum foil for aluminum electrolytic capacitors. From the present 600 tons, the company aims to increase production to 800 tons toward the end of the year.

Showa Denko Aluminum (Nantong) was established as the first overseas manufacturing base for Showa Denko Group's business line of aluminum foil for aluminum electrolytic capacitors, and started operation in 2013. It is the final processing base for high-purity aluminum foil mainly for high voltage, producing aluminum foil with high quality and purity.

Showa Denko's high-purity aluminum foil is estimated to have a nearly 60 percent share in the domestic aluminum electrolytic capacitor market, and also has a large share in the global market.
